The National Institute of Policy & Strategic Studies in 2013 ranked the Bayelsa State Scholarship Board the best in the Country. This is because of the paradigm shift and the innovation introduced into the management of scholarships.
Applications were done via the internet and those who want to see the list should go to the internet and or to the Scholarship Board. Awards were also done online. The public has the right to know and that is why the office is opened for all to have access to so let’s allow the Board to clear the backlog. The list is there and several are still being processed. Releasing the list in bits will also fuel suspicion. Let’s give them time. Are you aware that some Bayelsans on scholarship by the previous administration were WAFED and this administration intervened and paid their fares to Nigeria? The 2013 edition of the scholarship scheme will be tougher in terms of screening. When the Board might have cleared all the rubbish, the authentic list will be released.

Now if there is no list, how did people know they have obtained scholarship? The scheme is designed to promote excellence and manpower related to the developmental needs of the people.
We have recipients in: CHINA; FRANCE, MALAYSIA, POLAND; CANADA; UK; UKRAINE; US. AUSTRALIA, SOUTH AFRICA, BELARUS; GHANA; RUSSIA etc.
In developmental journalist, you pat someone on the back when he does well and you say hey what is happening when things go bad. Bayelsa State has also secured 54 bilateral scholarships. This never existed before. Bayelsa State has also secured 102 scholarships at the undergraduate level through written exams. The State had nothing in the AGBAMI SCHOLARSHIP Operated by Chevron, but under Governor Dickson, Bayelsa Ha been able to obtain 52 positions. This scholarship is for three categories: Medicine, Science and Engineering.
THIS year, 2013, applicants will write both manual and computerized exams in English Language, Aptitude Test and the applicants’ area of core competence. Even students who have been offered scholarship who make exceptionally low Grade point Average will have their scholarships cancelled. Recipients who go into cultism or any other unedifying practices will also have their scholarships cancelled. Bayelsa deserves the best AND NOTHING ELSE.
